Chili Con Carne

  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil, add the onion, garlic, and red pepper and saute.
  2. Add the bacon and ground beef.
  3. Cook until browned. Stir well.
  4. Put the mixture in a tagine or dutch oven.
  5. Add the canned tomatoes with juice from can.
  6. Add cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Cover the pan, and simmer for 2 hours 15 minutes.
  8. Mix in drained kidney beans.
  9. Cook another 15 to 30 minutes before serving.
