Boston Brown Bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 150C.
  2. Line a loaf tin with parchment paper.
  3. In large bowl, add the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda, and make a well in the center.
  4. Heat the milk and molasses on low heat until dissolved, stirring continuously.
  5. Add the milk to the well of dry ingredients, and gradually mix together with a spoon until the dough is smooth.
  6. Fill the loaf tin with dough up to 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for at least 1 hour. Test with a skewer-if it comes out clean it is done.
  8. Leave to cool on a cooling rack.
  9. Best eaten the same day.
