Cheese Bread Patties
- 7 1/8 cups white bread day-old, cut into cubes
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 3/4 cups cheese Graukase, or a very strong cheese
- 7 1/16 tablespoons cheese herb
- 1 bunch chives
- 1 leek
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon flour
- salt
- Soak the bread in the milk.
- Chop the onion finely with the chives and the leek.
- Saute the onion mixture in a saucepan with the butter.
- Cut the cheeses into very small pieces and combine with the sauteed onion mixture and the soaked bread.
- Shape this mixture into flattened patties and place them in a hot non-stick pan to brown on both sides.
- Next, cook the patties in simmering water for approximately 8 minutes.
- Serve the patties with additional grated cheese and a green salad.
