Teriyaki Salmon
- 1 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or 1 cm. piece of fresh ginger, diced
- 4 salmon fillets about 200 gr. each
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro diced
- sesame seeds
- In a saucepan, add the honey, water, lemon juice, soy sauce, and ginger. Bring to the boil and simmer 3 minutes. Remove from heat and pour into a container large enough to hold the salmon.
- Once the marinade has cooled, add the salmon making sure it is completely coated and refrigerate 1 whole day.
- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Transfer the salmon skin-side up to the baking tray and bake 15 to 20 minutes. Do not discard the marinade.
- Pour the marinade into a saucepan and simmer on low heat until the sauce has reduced and thickened.
- Serve the salmon with the sauce on top and sprinkled with cilantro and sesame seeds.
