Slow Cooker Kielbasa Macaroni And Cheese
- butter softened
- 1 pound cavatappi pasta or use elbow macaroni or rotini
- 3 cups whole milk for pasta
- 12 ounces evaporated milk 1 can
- 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt for pasta
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika for pasta
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 3 ounces cream cheese
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1/8 teaspoon salt for crumb topping
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika for crumb topping
- 12 ounces Hillshire Farm(R) Beef Polska Kielbasa
- 1 cup whole milk for sauce
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded gouda cheese
- Generously butter the bowl of a 6-qt. slow cooker.
- Add uncooked pasta, whole milk, evaporated milk, mustard, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to the slow cooker. Drop cream cheese by large spoonfuls into the bowl. Stir to combine.
- Cover slow cooker and cook on high for 1 hour. Stir, then cook until the pasta is al dente, about 1 more hour.
- Pour panko into a medium frying pan. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until crumbs are light golden, about 4 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika and cook, stirring, until crumbs are crisp, about 2 minutes more. Set aside.
- Cut kielbasa into 1/2-inch-thick rounds and cut them in half crosswise. Add kielbasa, whole milk, cheddar cheese, and gouda cheese to al dente pasta in slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Cover slow cooker and reduce heat to low. Continue cooking until pasta is cooked through and cheese is fully melted, 30-45 minutes.
- Stir the pasta well, scatter paprika breadcrumbs on top, and serve.
