Aunt Murrell'S Fruit Cake Cookies
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 4 eggs, well beaten
- 3 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 Tbsp. sour cream
- 3 Tbsp. orange juice
- 1/4 lb. red candied cherries
- 1/4 lb. green candied cherries
- 1/2 lb. pineapple (candied)
- 2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 lb. white raisins
- Cream together butter and brown sugar.
- Add eggs.
- Sift together flour and nutmeg.
- In a cup, combine vanilla, sour cream and orange juice.
- Add flour mixture and sour cream mixture alternately to butter and eggs.
- Add fruit mixture to flour and butter mixture.
- Blend well.
- Chill dough overnight and drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 to 15 minutes in 325u0b0 oven until lightly brown.
