Thumbprint Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Combine butter, brown sugar, egg yolk, orange peel and vanilla; beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Combine flour and salt; stir into butter mixture.
  4. Shape into 1-inch balls. Slightly beat egg white with fork.
  5. Dip balls in egg white; roll each in walnuts.
  6. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets; press thumb gently in center of each cookie.
  7. Bake in upper third of oven at 350u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until set.
  8. Remove from cookie sheets; cool on wire racks.
