Frosted Salad

  1. Dissolve Jell-O in water; add ginger ale and chill.
  2. Drain pineapple; reserve juice for topping.
  3. Add pineapple, marshmallows and bananas to Jell-O mixture.
  4. Chill until firm.
  5. Combine juice, sugar, flour and egg in saucepan and cook over low heat until thick.
  6. Remove from heat; add butter and cool.
  7. Fold in whipping cream that has been whipped; spread mixture over Jell-O.
  8. Top with 1/4 cup shredded American cheese and 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese.
