Skillet Steak Strips
- 2 lb. beef round steak (1/2-inch thick)
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 sliced onion
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 c. Heinz ketchup
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. Heinz vinegar
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 3 Tbsp. raisins
- hot cooked noodles
- Slice beef into 1/2-inch strips.
- Heat oil in large skillet. Brown beef and remove.
- In same skillet, saute onion and garlic adding more oil if necessary.
- Stir in ketchup, water, vinegar, bay leaf, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, cloves and raisins.
- Add browned beef, cover and simmer 1 hour or until beef is tender. Discard bay leaf.
- Serve over noodles or rice.
