Irish Bread With Raisins

  1. Preheat oven to 400 u0b0 F
  2. In a bowl, pour the flour, baking soda, salt, honey and raisins. Mix with a wooden spoon, gradually add the buttermilk to make a thick and smooth dough.
  3. Flour your work surface, place the dough on the floured surface and shape into a ball. Place it on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Using a knife, cut a X in the bread over 2/3 of its thickness, it will allow the heat to reach the center of the bread better. Lightly sprinkle the bread with flour and cook for 30 to 40 minutes, until it is golden brown.
  4. Feel free to vary the flours but be sure to take into account the amount of buttermilk you add. For example if you make a bread with white flour you will need less liquid. You can gradually add and see the amount necessary to obtain a smooth dough.
