Czech Beef Dinner
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. flour (for dredging)
- 2 lb. stewing beef, cubed
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. dill weed
- 1 tsp. caraway seed
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 (27-oz.) can sauerkraut
- paprika for top
- Mix flour, salt and pepper.
- Dredge beef in mixture and brown in hot oil.
- Pour off drippings and add onion, garlic, dill weed, caraway seed, paprika and water.
- Cover loosely and cook slowly for 2 hours until meat is tender.
- Stir in sour cream and heat through, but do not boil.
- Heat sauerkraut in a saucepan, drain and place on platter.
- Serve meat mixture over sauerkraut. Sprinkle with paprika.
