Beef And Guinness Pie
- 12 inches pie pastry
- 2 pounds round steak
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon raisins
- 5 onions medium, peeled and chopped
- 1 bottle stout Guinness
- 8 slices bacon
- 3 tablespoons butter
- chopped parsley
- Dice the steak and dust with flour.
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, brown the steak, bacon and onions in butter, then transfer to a casserole pan.
- Add raisins and brown sugar and Guinness. Cover and simmer for 2-2.5 hours, stirring occasionally. If necessary, add water if the gravy becomes too thick.
- Coat a pie dish with half of the pastry and bake. Add the meat and gravy mixture and place the remaining pastry on top.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve with potatoes and vegetables.
