Mother'S Brown Rolls
- 3 c. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- approximately 2 c. Moltex cereal
- 3/4 c. margarine
- 1/3 c. light molasses
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 5 envelopes dry yeast
- 3 to 5 eggs
- flour
- Bring water and salt to boil; stir in Moltex.
- When it bubbles up good, remove and stir in margarine, molasses and sugar.
- Beat eggs and add.
- In large mixing pan, sprinkle yeast into 1 cup good warm water.
- When cereal mixture is lukewarm, combine with yeast and 2 cups flour until well mixed.
- Add about 8 more cups flour. Turn out and knead for 5 minutes.
- Return to bowl; cover and let rise.
- Make into good sized rolls and place in greased pans. Cover; let rise until doubled.
- Bake in preheated 350u0b0 oven for 25 to 28 minutes, no more.
- Turn out on wire racks and grease tops with butter.
- Makes about 5 dozen rolls.
