Punjabi Chicken Karahi
- 2 1/4 pounds chicken
- 1 cup oil
- 5 cups tomatoes chopped
- 3 teaspoons ginger slices
- 1 garlic finely chopped medium pod
- 15 green chillies chopped- 20
- salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli cutter
- 1 teaspoon coriander seed cutter
- 1/2 teaspoon haldi
- 10 pieces cloves whole
- 15 pieces black pepper whole
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
- Take chicken in a pan, add 1-2 glass of water, garlic, ginger and spices. Cook on medium flame till chicken is tender.
- Now in a separate pan (Karahi) heat oil add tomatoes and cook on medium flame till tomatoes become tender and most of the water is evaporated.
- Now add tendered chicken to it, and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle chopped green chillies and simmer for 5 minutes.
