Apple Pudding Cake

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine apples, 1 1/2 cups water and lemon juice.
  2. Bring to boiling.
  3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Let stand 10 minutes and stir in vanilla.
  6. In a medium bowl, stir together 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt.
  7. Cut in margarine with pastry blender until crumbly.
  8. Stir in 1/2 cup water until just combined.
