Brownies
- 1 1/16 cups dark chocolate for melting
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter melted butter
- orange zest
- 6 large eggs separated
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 5/8 cup all-purpose flour
- 5 9/16 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup walnuts chopped

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and stir in the orange zest. Alternatively, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until thoroughly melted.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and egg yolks with an electric mixer or whisk.
- Stir in the melted chocolate, then add in the chopped nuts.
- Add the salt to the egg whites and beat until peaks form. Mix the dry ingredients and then fold into the egg whites. Add to the butter mixture.
- Pour the batter into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Melt the remaining chocolate and drizzle over the brownies, sprinkling with more nuts. Allow to cool before cutting it into 3-inch squares.
