Simple Sukiyaki
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 lb. sirloin tip, sliced paper thin across grain
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 2/3 c. water
- 5 oz. can bamboo shoots, drained
- 2 bunches green onions, cut in 1-inch pieces
- 1 lb. can bean sprouts, drained
- 5 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and thinly sliced
- 3 oz. can sliced mushrooms, undrained
- Heat oil in electric skillet to set at 375u0b0 to 400u0b0.
- Brown sirloin 2 to 3 minutes.
- Combine sugar, flour, soy sauce and water.
- Pour over beef; push to one side.
- Add bamboo shoots and onions, keeping in separate groups.
- Continue cooking while tossing each group 5 to 10 minutes, keeping vegetables separate. Push to side.
- Add bean sprouts, water chestnuts and mushrooms, keeping in groups.
- Cook about 2 minutes until heated through. Serve with hot fluffy rice.
