Revised Baked Beans(Lo-Fat)
- 2 oz. Canadian bacon, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1/2 lb. extra lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped (2 c.)
- 1/2 c. tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. molasses
- 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 can butter beans, well drained
- 1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans, well drained
- 2 (15 oz. each) cans white or Great Northern beans, well drained
- Saute Canadian bacon in a large skillet until slightly browned.
- Add ground beef and onion; cook until beef is fully browned and onion is translucent. Drain off the fat and pour mixture into a 3 or 4-quart baking dish. Stir all remaining ingredients into baking dish and bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
- Serves 8 to 10.
