Chili-Cheesy Moose Steak

  1. Cut moose into serving sized pieces.
  2. Combine flour, salt, chili powder and pepper.
  3. Pound into meat on both sides.
  4. Brown well in hot shortening.
  5. Remove from pan and brown onions in drippings.
  6. Spoon onions into large casserole and arrange steak pieces on top, then undrained tomatoes.
  7. Cover and bake 1 to 1 1/2 hours (or until meat is tender) at 350u0b0 (175u0b0 C).
  8. Sprinkle with grated cheese and heat 5 minutes longer to melt cheese.
  9. Serves 6.
