Angel Sugar Cookies
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/6 cup milk (I used 2%)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (add up to another half teaspoon if desired)
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour (gluten free all purpose flour works great too!)
- 2/3 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/6 teaspoon salt
- ...(for glaze)...
- 1 1/3 cups powdered (confectioners) sugar
- 3 tablespoons of warm water
- about 1/2 to 1 cup of candy sprinkles (more or less, varying upon preference)
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0F (190u0b0C) and prepare a few cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- First combine butter, sugar, milk, vanilla, and eggs blended, and slightly fluffy.
- In a separate bowl mix flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined. Then slowly add the egg mixture until it's texture is dough-like.
- Using a spoon, or scooper, place the cookies 1/2 inch to 1 inch apart. These cookies do not expand much, so make them your desired size.
- Then bake for about 8-10 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly browned. Don't be afraid to bake them longer. Use top rack of your oven for a more successful batch.
- Whisk confectioners sugar and water until it is a thick glaze. Then, when cookies are completely cooled, dip each cookie into the glaze and sprinkle the candies on top quickly before the glaze hardens. (This will only take a few minutes, so it is wise to have a helper with the sprinkles.)
- Finally, after the glaze is set, it's time to enjoy your cookies!
