Stuffed Giant Sea Shells Or Manicotti
- 1 1/2 pounds hamburger
- onion 1 sm., diced
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 6 ounces water
- 2 tablespoons oregano
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- 1 box noodles giant sea shell, or manicotti
- 16 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/8 teaspoon parsley
- 8 ounces provolone cheese sliced
- 16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- Cook noodles as directed, meanwhile brown hamburger and onion. Drain grease and add remaining ingredients. Cook on low heat, covered, for 20 minutes.
- Beat egg then add to ricotta cheese. Add bread crumbs, parsley and 4 ounces Mozzarella cheese. Mix together.
- Take large casserole dish; make layer of meat sauce on bottom. Take noodles and "stuff" with cheese mix. Place in dish (can be side by side). After all filled or mix gone, you can use meat sauce to stuff remaining noodles. Use broken provolone cheese and rest of Mozzarella to spread evenly over the shells. Cover and cook 350 to 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
