Picadillo

  1. In large heavy skillet over medium heat, cook beef, onion, green pepper and garlic, stirring to break up meat, until beef is browned and onion tender. Drain off fat. Stir in tomatoes, raisins, chili powder, cinnamon, salt, cloves and pepper.
  2. Bring to boil.
  3. Reduce heat. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes. Transfer to serving platter. Wipe skillet clean; add almonds and oil. Saute over medium heat until lightly browned. Sprinkle over serving platter. Serve.
