Beef-Broccoli Stir-Fry(Lo-Fat)
- 1 lb. lean, boneless round steak
- 4 Tbsp. white wine or sherry
- 2 Tbsp. reduced sodium soy sauce
- 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 2 Tbsp. reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 (1-inch) slices onion, quartered and separated
- 4 to 6 large mushrooms, sliced
- 6 c. broccoli cuts (fresh or frozen)
- 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
- Trim all fat from steak; cut into 1/4-inch strips (easier if partially frozen).
- Combine wine, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder and ginger in a bowl.
- Stir well.
- Add steak, tossing to coat.
- Let stand 30 minutes.
- Combine water, honey and 2 tablespoons soy sauce; stir well and set aside.
