Easy Brownies
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup crisco shortening
- 1 margarine
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 box confectioner's sugar
- 1 margarine
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 tablespoon cocoa
- Combine sugar, flour & salt.
- Combine water, Crisco, margarine & cocoa & bring to a boil; pour over sugar mixture & blend well.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, baking soda & vanilla, and when well mixed, pour into a greased & floured 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
- Bake 20 minutes at 350.
- Mix & melt icing ingredients, but do not boil.
- Pour over hot cake.
