Buttermilk Scones With Orange And Cinnamon Spread

  1. Preheat oven to 220u0b0C/425u0b0F/gas mark 7. Grease a baking sheet.
  2. Place all scone ingredients together in a mixing bowl and mix with a wooden spoon to form a soft dough.
  3. Turn onto a lightly-floured surface. Knead lightly.
  4. Roll out to 1.25cm (1/2 inch) thick. Cut into rounds with a plain 6.25cm (2 inch) floured cutter.
  5. Lightly knead trimmings together, roll and cut into rounds as before.
  6. Place on baking sheet and bake in oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile mix the spread ingredients together. Chill for at least 20 minutes.
  8. Serve with the scones.
