Honey Crisp Crunch Top Apple Pie
- 2 pie doughs for a 9- inch
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- salt
- 5 Honey crisp apples peeled and sliced thinly
- 14 ounces unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- salt
- 1 tablespoon butter room temp
- Line the pie pan with dough
- Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt
- Add in apples, applesauce and lemon juice
- Spoon the mixture into the pie pan
- Top the pie with the other dough, either making your own designs or criss-crossing
- Make the crunch topping by mixing together all ingredients with a fork until crumbly and then sprinkle over the crust
- Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, then reduce to 350 and bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is a golden brown
