Fried Won Ton
- 1/2 c. pork sausage
- 1/4 c. chopped shrimp or prawns
- 1 Tbsp. finely chopped green onion
- dash of ground ginger
- 2 drops sesame oil (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. salt or 1/2 tsp. or more High Trails seasoning
- dash of pepper
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- crushed red pepper (optional)
- 1 pkg. won ton skins
- 1 egg
- Combine all ingredients, except won tons skins and egg. Chill for 1/2 hour.
- Place about 1 teaspoon or less of meat in a corner of the won
- ton skin.
- Fold skin over meat, about 1/3 of the way to the
- opposite
- corner.
- Put
- the
- egg in a small bowl and mix with a fork.
- Using your finger, dip into egg and spread
- on the won ton skin over the seam.
- This keeps the oil out
- of
- the meat. Fry in a Dutch oven with oil over a medium heat.
- You
- want
- the filling to cook, but you don't want the won
- ton
- skin
- to burn. Serve with hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce.
