Caramel Oatmeal Chewies

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, soda and salt; mix well.
  3. Stir in margarine; mix until well blended.
  4. Reserve 1 cup.
  5. Press remaining onto bottom of prepared pan.
  6. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
  7. Top with nuts and chocolate chips.
  8. Mix caramel topping and 1/4 cup of flour until smooth.
  9. Drizzle over chocolate pieces.
  10. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture.
  11. Bake additional 18 to 22 minutes, then cool.
