Coffee Rubbed Cheesburger With Smoked Cheddar

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Combine ground chuck, salt, and rub in a large bowl. Form 6 patties, about 1 inch thick, making a small indention in top center of each burger to yield perfectly shaped burgers. Allow burgers to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes to take the chill off.
  2. Cook burgers for about 4 minutes per side, flipping once, for medium-rare or longer for well-done burgers. Remove from grill, top with cheese if desired, and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  3. Serve with toasted buns, sauteed onions, lettuce, and tomato.
