Sesame Chicken - Slow Cooker $5.00 Dinner
- 2 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs I found thighs with skin and bone and took them off - less expensive than boneless/skinless
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons minced onion
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon red peppers crushed
- 6 tablespoons cold water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- sesame seeds
- Cut chicken into 1 to 11/2 inch cubes and put into Crock Pot
- Mix together honey, low-sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, olive oil, garlic, onion, barbecue sauce and crushed red peppers in a small bowl.nour the sauce mixture over the chicken and stir to coat.nook on low for 31/2 to 4 hours.nemove the chicken from the slow cooker, reserving the sauce.nour the sauce into a saucepan over medium heat.nix together the cold water and cornstarch and stir into the sauce.nook sauce over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.nurn the heat down to low, add chicken to sauce. Stir to coat while simmering.nemove from heat and sauce will thicken more as it cools.nerve over rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
