Holly'S Fruitcake Cookies
- 2 lb. container of mixed candied fruit
- 1 lb. Sunmaid baking raisins
- 1 C. flour
- 2 C. brown sugar
- 1/2 C. margarine
- 4 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. buttermilk
- 1/2 C. orange juice
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 C. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 lb. pecans, whole or broken in large pieces
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- Dust fruit and raisins with 1 cup flour.
- Cream brown sugar and margarine.
- Beat in 4 eggs.
- Add buttermilk, orange juice and vanilla.
- Mix well.
- Add 2 cups flour, soda, spices, and salt.
- Mix well.
- Add fruit, raisins and nuts.
- Drop spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 14 minutes.
- Makes 5 dozen.
