Chilly Cheese Naan

  1. So First we prepare the dough.
  2. Combine the yeast, the sugar and 21/2 tbsp of lukewarm water in a bowl. Stir. Cover with a lid and keep aside for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Combine the plain flour, yeast-sugar mixture (made in step 2), dhai, the melted ghee and salt in a deep bowl and knead into a soft and smooth dough. While kneading it use lukewarm water.
  4. Cover the dough with a lid or wet cloth and allow it prove for about 30 minutes.
  5. Now make the inner stuffing. Mix the chilly flakes, grated cheese, cooked rice and chopped parsley in a bowl.
  6. After the dough is ready. Divide the dough and the stuffing into 10 equals balls or portions
  7. Take one ball of dough and use your hands or a roller to roll the dough into a 1 inch diameter circle using some plain flour for rolling.
  8. Place a portion of the stuffing you made in the center of the dough.
  9. Bring all the sides of the dough to the center like a ball and seal it tightly.
  10. Roll it again into a circle of 2 inches in diameter.
  11. Heat a non-stick pan and place the naan over it. Cook it on one side till it puffs slightly and then turn over. Cook it on the other side till it puffs a little.
  12. Then roast it on an open flame till it turns golden brown in colour from both the sides. If you're using an electric stove you will need a Multipurpose grill which you can place on top of the electric stove and use it to grill the bread.
  13. Repeat steps 7 to 12 to make the rest of the naan's.
  14. After you're done with each naan and while its still hot, brush each naan with a little butter and serve immediately.
