Lasagna That Is Easy
- whole wheat lasagna noodles Boiled and ready to use
- 2 pounds ground beef
- italian seasoning to taste
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 onion
- 2 cups part skim ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella ; plus mozzarella to top lasagna if desired
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 egg
- In large skillet brown grated garlic and onion in butter or your choice of oil. When garlic starts to brown I add the ground beef and season it with Italian seasoning. Let beef cook completely in skillet. Drain grease if necessary.
- Pour sauce into skillet with beef. Let meat and sauce simmer for 10 minutes.
- While sauce simmers in a small bowl combine ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan and egg.
- In a large casserole dish (9X13 should be big enough) layer sauce, noodles and cheese mixture in whatever order you choose. I normally start with sauce, then noodles, more sauce and then cheese mixture. End with sauce and top with saved mozzarella.
- Bake on 350 degrees for 40 minutes covered with foil. Then remove the foil and bake another 10-15 minutes.
- Let stand at least 10 minutes to set before serving.
