Sweet And Pungent Spareribs

  1. Brown spareribs in oil and set aside.
  2. Pour off all but 2 tablespoons drippings.
  3. Add onion and green pepper and saute until tender.
  4. Add remaining ingredients except cornstarch and water to onion and green pepper.
  5. Heat until bubbly.
  6. Mix cornstarch and water together and add to sauce; cook 5 minutes.
  7. Add ribs and simmer for 1 hour or until tender.
  8. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
