Hawaiian Burgers
- 1 1/3 pounds ground beef
- 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 egg
- 1/2 pound frozen french fries
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 15 ounces pineapple slices
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 teaspoons mayonnaise
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1/3 cucumber sliced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
- Mix the beef, breadcrumbs, tomato paste and egg and season to taste. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
- Preheat the oven to 425u0b0F. Put the fries on a baking sheet and cook them for about 20 mins until golden brown. Turn them after about 15 mins.
- Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the patties for about 5 mins on each side until golden brown. Put a slice of pineapple and a slice of cheese on each patty and melt the cheese over low heat for 4-5 mins.
- Cut the hamburger buns open and brush the bottom halves lightly with mayonnaise. Top with lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and warm hamburgers. Put the upper halves of the buns on top and serve with fries.
