Authentic Pizza Dough
- 1/2 tablespoon dry active yeast
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
- 4 cups flour preferable Tipo 00 flour
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Activate the dry yeast in the luke warm water by adding honey (or sugar). When it start to bubble, the yeast is ready for the rest of the ingredients.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and knead the dough well - preferably for 10-15 minutes!
- Let the dough rise, covered, for at least 1.5 hour, or until double size. Punch it down and push out the air.
- Form 3-5 dough balls, by wrapping the outer layer around the outer side until you have a silky smooth skin on the ball.
- Dust a baking tray with flour and place the balls.
- Cover with plastic wrap to prevent the dough from drying out.
- If you are planning on using the dough later (more than an hour) - refrigerate.
- NOTEnnThe trick is to use a Pizza Stone and place it on your Weber Grill.nnHeat up the grill to minimum 400 degree Fahrenheit.nnUse a Pizza Peel to lift you pizza to/from the stone.nnBake the pizza (under the lid) for about 8 minutes.
