Chocolate Buns For Christmas Morning

  1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in a small bowl with a little water.
  3. Pour the sugar, flour, water, yeast, and salt in food processor bowl, knead on medium speed. Add butter, knead for 5 minutes on medium speed to obtain a smooth dough.
  4. Add chocolate, knead 2 minutes.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
  6. Let the dough rest and double in volume in a draft-free location for 1 hour.
  7. Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface. Flatten the dough with the palm of your hand.
  8. Divide the dough in half, then divide each half in 20 pieces to form 20 balls of dough.
  9. To make buns, flatten dough balls with the palm of your hand, and form a square. Then fold the 4 points of the square to the center. Repeat with 4 new corners. Space the dough balls on 2 baking trays lined with parchment paper.
  10. Let rise another 45 minutes until they almost double in volume.
  11. Beat the egg in a small bowl and add a drop of milk. Brush the buns with egg mixture.
  12. Bake for 10 minutes until golden.
