Apple Crumble With An Almond Twist
- 7 apples medium-sized
- 4 tablespoons plum jam
- 1/2 lemon juice
- 1 2/3 cups wheat flour
- 1/2 cup almonds unpeeled, optional, almond peel intensifies flavor and color
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 5/8 cup rolled oats
- 1 1/8 cups butter
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- In a baking pan, pour lemon juice and plum juice.
- Peel and core the apples, cut into small cubes, and add to pan. Mix everything very well, using your hands to mix if necessary.
- In the food processor, chop the almonds slightly. Add flour, rolled oats, sugar, and finally cold margarine cut into small pieces. Mix to a granulated mixture, thicker than beach sand.
- Cover the apples with the mixture, and bake for 25 or 30 minutes or until golden.
- Serve warm or cold, plain or with a scoop of ice-cream.
