Sourdough Bread(Starter From Scratch And Bread)
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 c. flour, sifted
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. instant potato flakes
- 6 c. bread flour (Pillsbury, White Lily, etc.)
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 c. starter
- 1/2 c. corn oil
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- Mix all ingredients in large mixing bowl.
- Pat top with corn oil.
- Then cover lightly with foil paper and let rise for 10 to 12 hours.
- Knead a little while in bowl, then divide into 3 or 4 equal parts and knead each part 12 to 15 times on floured board.
- Put into greased loaf pans.
- (Spray with Pam or Mazola corn oil spray.) Brush tops with corn oil.
- Cover with waxed paper and 2 dish towels.
- Let rise in pans 12 hours.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Remove from pans, brush tops with melted butter or margarine.
- Cool on racks.
