Chocolate Treacle Snaps

  1. Preheat oven to 350. line two or three baking sheets with parchment paper. Put the butter, sugar an treacle in a small pan. Heat gently, stirring constantly, until the butter has melted. Remove from the heat and set aside until needed.
  2. Sift the flour in to a large mixing bowl. Add the sugar, baking soda and mixed spice. Mix well using a wooden spoon. Slowly pour in the butter and treacle mix and stir until combined well.
  3. Place large teaspoons full of the mix well apart on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes until they just start to brown on the edges. Leave to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes. When firm enough to handle, transfer to a wire cooling rack.
  4. Mix thee milk and white chocolate separately in the microwave in microwave safe bowls set over pans of hot water. Swirl a little of each into the center of each cookie and leave to set.
