Sweet And Sour Pork
- wine
- 7 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons mirin
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 pinch salt
- 5 teaspoons ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- pineapple juice A bit of
- water A bit of
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 7 ounces pork loin
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- self rising flour
- cold water
- soy sauce
- salt
- sunflower oil
- 1/4 green pepper
- 1/4 red pepper
- 1/2 onion
- For the sweet and sour sauce, heat wine and vinegar in a saucepan.
- In a bowl, mix remaining ingredients, whisking until corn starch is dissolved.
- When wine mixture start to boil, whisk in remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil once more and remove from heat.
- Set aside.
- For the pork, cut pork into bite-size cubes and marinate in soy sauce.
- Mix flour with a little ice water, until it forms a paste similar to a thick bechamel.
- Heat sunflower oil in a saucepan or skillet.
- Drain soy sauce from the meat.
- Dip pork pieces in flour paste and water and fry in batches.
- Set aside cooked pieces to drain on paper towel.
- For the vegetables, cut peppers and onions into large pieces.
- Heat oil in a wok and saute vegetables.
- To serve, arrange cooked vegetables and pork on a plate and serve with sweet and sour sauce.
