Slow Simmered Pork Roast
- 3 green onions cut diagonally
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger julienne
- 2 anise seed star, whole
- 2 tablespoons condiment soy bean, mien see
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 2 1/2 cups water or more
- 2 cloves garlic sliced thin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 2 1/4 pounds pork roast boneless, butt is preferred
- Mix all ingredients together, except pork.
- Place the meat in an ovenproof casserole that is just large enough to hold it.
- Pour the sauce over the top, cover the dish and bake at 275 degrees anywhere from 5 to 8 hours, depending on your taste. (You can also use your slow cooker and give it a little more time.)
- Serve with cooked rice and crisp salad.
