Happy Trail Dog Biscuits

  1. Heat oven to 300u0b0.
  2. Place oven rack in upper third of oven. Line a cookie sheet with foil.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flours, oats, corn meal, liver powder, salt and garlic powder.
  4. Add egg, oil and broth.
  5. Mix with a wooden spoon to make a soft dough.
  6. Dough should be soft but firm enough to roll out.
  7. If too moist, add some flour; if too dry, add water.
  8. On floured surface, roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut in 3 1/2-inch long dog bone biscuit shapes with floured cutter.
  9. Place 1-inch apart on prepared cookie sheet.
  10. Bake 2 hours.
  11. Turn off oven and let biscuits stand in oven overnight to dry out and harden.
  12. Can be stored in plastic bags at room temperature up to 3 months.
  13. Makes about 24.
  14. Per biscuit:
  15. 31 calories, 6 grams protein, 23 grams carbohydrates, 5 grams fat, 12 mg. cholesterol and 142 mg. sodium.
