Scotch Meat Loaves(Cannonballs)
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 c. soft bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. finely chopped celery
- 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. ground sage
- dash of garlic powder
- 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 hard-cooked eggs
- 1/4 c. chili sauce
- 1 Tbsp. snipped parsley
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1/8 tsp. oregano
- 1 slice American cheese, shredded or sliced
- In a mixing bowl, combine beaten egg, bread crumbs, celery, onion, salt, sage and garlic powder.
- Add ground beef; mix well. Shape half of each mixture around each peeled, hard-cooked egg. Arrange meat loaves in a baking dish.
- Combine chili sauce, parsley, water and oregano; pour over meat loaves.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes.
- Spoon chili sauce mixture over loaves; top each with cheese.
- Return to oven and heat until cheese melts.
- Makes 2 servings.
