Tori No Karaage Don
- chicken thigh fillets Skinless
- fresh ginger
- garlic cloves
- soy sauce 2 Tbsp
- mirin 1 Tbsp
- salt
- pepper
- belacan Sambal, 1/4 tsp optional
- plain flour 3 Tbsp
- cornflour 3 Tbsp
- vegetable oil for deep frying
- 1. Finely grate Ginger and Garlic
- 2. Combine Soy sauce, mirin, belacan, salt, pepper ginger and garlic
- 3. Chop Chicken into 1 inch cubes
- 4. Marinate Chicken in soy mixture for 30 minutes
- 5. Combine Plain four and cornflour in a flat-bottomed container
- 6. Heat oil (about 1.5 inches) in a pot until it starts to sizzle around wooden chopstick dipped into the oil
- 7. Coat chicken pieces in flour mixture
- 8. Deep fry coated chicken in batches of 5-6 pieces - remove when and drain on a paper towel
