Runderlapjes(Dutch Beef Stew)

  1. Put butter in saucepan; bring up to temperature.
  2. Add meat, seal juices and fry golden.
  3. Add onions, bay leaf, cloves and thyme and fry slowly.
  4. Add flour and allow to brown slightly.
  5. Add all other ingredients.
  6. Transfer to casserole, cover with lid and cook in a slow oven, gas mark 3 (325u0b0), for about 1 1/2 hours (or until tender).
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve with boiled potatoes and red cabbage.
