Norwegian Kringler
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. flour
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cream
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. almond extract
- Mix the first 3 ingredients like a pie crust.
- Put on a cookie sheet in 2 long strips, 3-inches wide.
- Put the 1 cup water and 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan and heat to boiling point.
- As you take from the stove, add 1 cup flour.
- Stir until smooth; then beat in 3 eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth after each.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract.
- Spread lightly on the dough strips and bake 45 minutes in a 375u0b0 oven.
- When cool, frost with the powdered sugar, cream, 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon almond extract.
