Wreath Roll

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Scald milk and pour over shortening,
  3. sugar
  4. and salt.
  5. When mixture cools to lukewarm, add the
  6. dissolved
  7. yeast
  8. and
  9. add
  10. the flour and beat until smooth, add
  11. the
  12. remaining flour until soft dough is formed. Knead about
  13. 5
  14. minutes, place dough in greased bowl until it rises to double its size.
  15. Take dough out and roll until about a
  16. fourth of inch thick.
  17. After you have rolled it out spread both cans
  18. of the
  19. filling over it.
  20. Roll up and shape into a wreath.
  21. Slit
  22. top of
  23. roll.
  24. Let
  25. rise
  26. 30 minutes.
  27. Bake on greased
  28. pan at 325u0b0 for 35 minutes or until done.
  29. Glaze with powdered
  30. sugar
  31. icing while still warm.
  32. Decorate with pecans and cherries as desired.
