Grandma'S Soup
- 3 to 4 lb. boneless beef short ribs
- 5 large carrots with skin off
- 5 large celery
- 1 large onion
- 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 small head cabbage
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 3 Tbsp. sweet basil
- seasoned salt and regular salt to taste
- 20 c. water
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. noodles
- Cut short ribs into 2-inch cubes.
- Put in 12-quart pan with 20 cups water.
- Using food processor, process carrots and celery into small chunks.
- Process onion and cabbage to a finer consistency. Add to meat and water with 8 ounce can tomato sauce and spices. Bring to a boil, then turn down heat and simmer until meat is tender, about 4 to 5 hours.
- Add noodles; cook according to directions on package.
- Add more water if needed.
