Velvet Crumb Cake

  1. Heat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour 8-inch square pan or 9-inch round pan.
  2. Beat all ingredients except topping on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly.
  3. Continue to beat on medium speed 4 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
  4. Pour into pan.
  5. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool slightly.
  6. Stir together all ingredients for the topping (see list in ingredients).
  7. Spread topping over cake. Set oven control to Broil. Broil about 3 inches from heat about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
